Applique Class with Animal Pictures. 

 Buddy Class 2 - 3 hour sessions. Sign up yourself and a friend.

 

Cost $60.00 each student for two sessions + Cost of Pattern and Fabric.

Book requited The Dog Lady Goes Wild $14.50  (includes patterns for lion, elephant, tiger, and orangutan) or  The Dog Lady Speaks  (Includes patterns for (Sheltie, Min-Pin, Pug, Shih-Su,  Jack  Russel Terrier, and Persian cat.)  $16.00 *

Minimum of 2 students to have class. 

This is a new way to applique.  Your applique is actually free standing until you place it on your background exactly where you want it to go.

First Class will discuss color, shades, and tints, to decide on colors you will choose for your picture. 

. This class will have a homework assignment to be completed by the next class session. 

Items Needed for first class:

• pattern book

•  glue stick,

• 4 to 6 business envelopes

•  marker or pen

•  fabric scissors

• paper scissors.

•  A sharp pair of small pointy scissors for cutting small pieces of fabric will be helpful.

• An assortment of color fabrics you may want to use in your design.  Don't worry if you don't think you have enough. This will be part of the discussion and there will be a time for shopping for fabrics after class.

 An iron and board will be available

Optional to bring: Your own small iron and ironing surface..

Class 2  will continue to evaluate the color choices for those that are still unsure.  We will place and join together the rest of the applique pieces in each group.  We will put the groups together and place them on the background.  We will talk about framing and additional colors to enhance your quilt.  We will use pigma pens and pastels to bring your animal to life with shading and highlights.  We will discuss thread painting when you begin quilting your piece. 

For Class 2 you will need to bring:

• Your book or pattern

• all of your pieces in your envelopes

• fabrics choices

• your sewing machine,

• glue stick

• thread, scissors

• freezer paper patterns.
